Reiki

Reiki is a beautiful, gentle treatment. I have been a long-time Reiki client as well as student. Reiki has been an essential supplement that supports my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Because of its effectiveness and importance, I decided to train and get “attuned” for the first time in 2015.

Reiki is a non-invasive natural Japanese healing modality that helps promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and enhanced quality of life. Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words "Rei" meaning "Higher Power" and "Ki" meaning "life force energy". It is essentially the "laying on of hands" that helps improve one's energetic life force. While these words touch on the spiritual, Reiki is not religious. Anyone can benefit from Reiki and honor their own spiritual beliefs. Reiki is increasingly becoming more mainstream as an essential complementary therapy to traditional medical and psychological treatment.

Each person is different so receives the benefits of Reiki differently. Potential benefits include:

  • General relaxation and improved sleep

  • Promote overall well being and mindfulness

  • Eases pain, depression, stress and fatigue

  • Help mitigate pre and post-surgery anxiety and pain

  • Can aid in blood pressure and migraine management

I am currently offering Reiki in Castle Rock, CO at The Castle Rock Med Spa and in my home office in Monument, CO.  Please click below to schedule an appointment.

History

Reiki is associated with Dr. Mikao Usui who is credited with rediscovering the root system now called Reiki. His tradition and methods were passed through several grandmasters of Reiki. Today, Reiki takes many forms, however, The Usui System of Natural Healing is still the form most widely practiced. Practitioners and Master Teachers are trained through an initiation process where Masters pass on their knowledge and expertise to their students.)

What is Reiki used to treat?

Reiki is a great tool for to support healing, stress reduction, relaxation. Many people use Reiki to enhance wellness. Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but it may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings.

Many times a client, after experiencing Reiki treatments, will wish to learn Reiki to work with this energy themselves by taking a Reiki I course. This can be beneficial as they may then use this stress reduction and relaxation tool anytime they wish when cost would prohibit it otherwise.

Kristin's Training

I am a long time Reiki client myself and because I received transformative effects from my Reiki treatments and I was drawn to helping people heal my whole life so I pursued Reiki training and "attunements:" I hail from Virginia outside Washington, DC where I trained and initially practiced. I was first attuned to Usui Reiki (Western) in 2015 then Jikiden Reiki (Eastern) in 2019 and just received my Advance Master Practitioner training and attunement in June of 2024.

Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some feel a sense of energy or electricity during treatments, some have a sense of floating or some may simply feel more relaxed. I feel it’s important to allow each client their own experience. To me, Reiki is an essential support to any other treatments a person may be receiving or just as a way to promote general good health and mindfulness.

About Kristin

In addition to Reiki, I am a certified Master Life and Executive Coach, certified Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique practitioner and have a bachelor’s degree in Metaphysics from the University of Metaphysics. I also have a bachelor’s degree in organizational and behavioral communications and have worked in the digital media, marketing and marketing technology fields.

I was introduced to alternative modalities and spirituality when I was a child by my mother and have been studying humanity, yoga, meditation, and living a heart centered life since I was young. Empathic since birth, I have always been able to “see” peoples’ unique talents. I believe each person is a unique beautiful soul with amazing talents and abilities they can tap into. I also believe life is a wonderful and sometimes harrowing journey where people need a friend, guide or coach to help navigate this journey. My life’s passion is to help people tap into the best creative, inspired part of themselves and to help facilitate healing and transformation.

Note: I am a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals. As such, I abide by their professional code of ethics https://iarpreiki.org/page-345872.
